Final Bracket

First on a personal note I want to say that this was one of the best weekends of pool I've ever witnessed. I love the venue, I think Bigwigs Billiards is one of the premier locations for major events like this. Rob, Ken and staff keep up all the hard work, speaking for the players we all appreciate your support of the game. Tour operator Jim Wych and his Canadian 9-ball Tour team pulled this event off without a hitch, Jerry, Mike, Brian and Karen all worked start to finish both days. Congratulations Jim on bringing together such a great team to run the show!!

On to the action and it was packed with exciting moments as some of our home town favourites would give our European visitors a run for their money. Both Ralph Souquet and Marcus Chamat didn't make it to Sunday as they fell victim to some great play by Jason Klatt, Vito Puopolo, Elio and of course Alex Pagulayan. It was great to see Ralph and Marcus add this event to their schedule on the way to the US Open, thanks for supporting 9-Ball in Canada guys and hope to see you back again, it was a pleasure to watch!

Mario Morra
Or local veterans Jeff White and Mario Morra gave us a great show both with great finishes and showed so much heart, these are definitely two guys that know what it takes to win. Jeff gave Alex his toughest match of the tournament as he tested him hill-hill with a chance to send him to the one loss side. Mario with a rare win against his son played extrmemly well and earned his 3rd place finish. Good to see you in the mix guys!

Justin Kluznik
A special note about a player that stepped his game up in a big way this weekend, Justin Kluznik booked as a long shot got through Louis Fazekas, Brady Gollan, and Jason Klatt before running into the west coast connection that were just too sharp. Justins 5/6th finish is something to be proud of! Awesome shooting Justin!!

Speaking of the west coast connection of Edwin Monal and Tyler Edey who showed us at this event why they are considered two of our top Canadian players. Edwin is no stranger to top finishes but it would be Tyler this time that would take their match as they met on the A side and get the opportunity to test just how good the Lion was playing

Well this weekend proved simiar to many at Bigwigs Billiards as it would be the Alex Pagulayan show (both on and off the pool table). We just get used to seeing him make unbeliveable shots over and over again but I never tire of the creativity and simply put amazing display of shot making. In his match against Marcus Chamat he under hit a shot and came up hooked with the cueball sitting in the middle of the table. It looked to be a spot where a jump shot seemed impossible. Alex like the seasoned pro he is grabbed not only one rake but two, layed one on to of the other to bridge his jump cue nice and high, leaned way over the table and executed a perfect pot, and by the way perfect position on the next ball. Wow!!

Tyler Edey
Alex would face Tyler in the final match, Alex started strong and had Tyler a little shaken up allowing him to get an early lead. Tyler cooled down and put some pressure mountring an early comeback but Alex put it in high gear and beat him to the finish line capturing the title and $5000 prize!!

Keep supporting this Tour everyone it's one of the best things going in our great country!!

Also please support your sponsors for the Canadian 9-Ball Tour Chapters-Indigo Bookstores, Cineplex Entertainment, Canada Bowling and Billiards, Stan James Bookmakers, Simonis Cloth and Aramith Billiard Balls. Tyler I hope you bought your book at Chapters!
