Carrie Dwyer, Naomi Williams, Corrine Johnson

Doolys Billiards in Waterloo was a popular place this weekend with all of us there for the CWPT final and a pay per view UFC playing. Due to an unusually small field the event would finish in one day and as the matches went into the night UFC fans from the local universities started showing up. As they came in they were in awe to see the best Ladies in Ontario playing there, they were very interested and amazed to see just how good the players were. A group of them spent most of then night learning trick shots from Rob Brandenburg who was there supporting his girlfriend. They were also having a very difficult time winning games against Brittany Bryant who was taking advantage of some free time to practice.

Now to the tournament and once again Naomi Williams was the player to beat. Favoured to win the CWPT final and already finishing on top of the Tour Points earning an invite to play in all 2008 WPBA Tour Events.

It would be Carrie Dwyer fresh off a hill-hill win over Brittany Bryant that would prove to be the stumbling block for Williams. Carrie grabbed the hot seat match and forced Williams to grind through a B side final with Corrine Johnson to earn a rematch for the event title. In true form Williams did just that and would now be put to the test having to defeat Dwyer twice to win. Carrie would prove to be an very tough opponent and made it no easy road for Williams as she took her to the hill in the first set. Naomi however would polish off the final rack forcing a second set. Williams would go on to win that second set as well and Carrie would settle for second place.
