John White and the staff at Shooters in North York would like to officially announce the following qualifying tournaments for the Canadian Championships to be held at Shooters beginning August 15.

Here are the following confirmed dates:

Amateur 9-ball qualifiers:
Thursday July 23
Thursday July 30
Thursday August 6

Start time for all dates will be 8:00 pm sharp

Format: $25 entry fee + $25 one time O.B.S.A membership fee
- Single knockout
- Race to 7
- Winner breaks
- For every eight players the winner will receive a paid entry to the Canadian amateur nine ball championships
- The tournaments will be run in boards of eight, if there are sixteen players two separate boards will be run and two spots will be awarded.

Open 9-ball qualifiers:
Thursday July 30
Thursday August 7

Start time will be 8:00 pm sharp

Format: Pros (11 handicaps) $60 entry fee, all others $40 entry fee + one time O.B.S.A membership fee
- Race to 9 both sides
- Winner breaks
- One race to 9 final
- Shooters is guaranteeing a paid spot into the Open 9-ball based on an eight player field

8-ball qualifiers:
* These are currently the only scheduled qualifiers at any poolroom in the GTA so for those of you interested in competing in the Open 8-Ball here is you chance
Tuesday August 4
Tuesday August 11

Start time will be 8:00 pm sharp

Fromat: Pros $60 entry fee, all others $40 entry fee
- Race to 7 Winners side
- Race to 5 Losers side
- One race to 7 final
- Alternate breaks
- Shooters is guaranteeing a paid spot to the Open 8-ball based on an 8 player field

Due to the low turnout for the previous Open qualifiers we have come up up a lower entry fee system which we think will be more accomadating to all players who wish to attempt to qualify for the open events instead of paying the full amount. We hope to see you all here and are looking forward to some competitive qualifying tournaments leading up to the main events later on in the month.
